  1. Positive self talk. Things like replacing a negative thought with a positive one, or looking in the mirror and complimenting a part of my body, even if we don't believe it yet.

  1. Following people who look like me on social media has been a big one for me. It normalizes the parts of our bodies we're not completely comfortable with and makes us feel more confident in our skin.

  1. Buy bigger sizes. This one took a little time to become okay with. Seeing a bigger size doesn’t always feel good, but does squeezing your body into something that doesn’t fit well feel any better? Virginia said her outfits and confidence got better when she started wearing clothes that fit her body.

  2. Doing boudoir shoots. No, seriously, it was so nice to have tons of photos within our gallery that we loved and that made us feel good. It really helped us see ourselves in a way we never had before.

Being confident in our own bodies can be so hard when our whole life we've been surrounded by a thin-obsessed culture. A culture that talks down on anything except thinness and perfection. Perfection meaning no stretch marks, thick thighs, apron belly, or cellulite. It's so important to work towards showing yourself love and kindness and building confidence in yourself so you can stop waiting until you're in a smaller body to be happy.

If you want to book a boudoir shoot inquire on our website or shoot us an email and Olivia or Virginia will get back to you. We're excited to chat with you.
