Looking to have an Acadia Elopement? Heres a few things to keep in mind.

NEAREST AIRPORT

If you're not within driving distance of Acadia the closest international airport is Bangor International. It is about an hour away from towns surrounding Acadia, like Bar Harbor ME. They also have car rentals right at the airport to make it nice and easy.

ENTRANCE FEE

To enter Acadia National Park you need to have a pass and you have a few different options. Your first option is a standard pass. This is the cheapest pass but only gives you access to Acadia for 7 days. This is perfect if you won't be coming back, if you are you can grab an annual pass. There is also the America the Beautiful Pass That gives you access to all US National Parks for one year. There is an additional fee to access Cadillac Mountain with a vehicle, be sure to purchase that ahead of time.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

The busiest times of year are June through October, for good reason! This doesn't mean it's not the best time to visit, it just means it'll take some planning and booking things in advance. We photographed one couple in Acadia in May and the pro was the island was quiet. The con was not a lot was open for the season yet, meaning restaurants and shops.

NO DRONES

Use of drones are prohibited in Acadia National Park. This is important to know ahead of time so you can choose the appropriate videography package when selecting your vendor

DO I NEED A PERMIT?

Ceremonies of up to ten people (including the officiate) may be held without a permit. Anything bigger than that will require a application fee and it must be applied for no more than 1 year prior and no less than 72 hours in advance..

THE PARKING SITUATION

Parking in Acadia National Park is limited. Popular area's like sand beach fill up quickly. You'll want to go early or find a beautiful spot in a less popular area (we help our clients with this!). There's so many beautiful places around Acadia!
