WHY I ELOPED IN ACADIA NATIONAL PARK AND THINK YOU SHOULD TOO!

In 2019 we were looking for places locally to have a tiny ceremony and celebration with our closet friends and family, then the pandemic hit. We knew we were going to need to push back our date to 2021 so I took advantage of the free time I had to try to plan but it was stressing me out. I also have a lot of childhood trauma and ended up removing people from my life in 2020. There wasn't going to be many people to invite. It got to a point where I finally asked my husband "Can we just elope?", hoping he'd say yes. He agreed happily and I got to planning! Even though our initial plan was kinda an elopement I knew I wanted this to be more special and in a really beautiful area. We decided on Acadia National Park for our elopement because of the stunning combination of rocky cliffs, ocean and beautiful forest. This was my dream. I can't even begin to tell you how much funner it is to plan when you're not worried about other people and just worried about what the whole day is supposed to be about, you and your love for each other!

So how did we spend our day? We woke up together excited and ready for the day. We had a nice slow morning, we cooked a big delicious breakfast together in our Airbnb before separating to get ready, plot twist...I got stuck in my dress for 45 minutes, the zipper got jammed! Our slow morning together is one of the highlights of the day, it was so nice to wake up, snuggle in bed and start our morning together. We decided to do a first look so we got ready then Tyler headed down the trail to the spot we picked and shorty after I followed behind him. We did a first look together and then did one with our kids! My daughter had gotten ready with me and my son got ready with Tyler. It was so special and something I'll remember the rest of my life. Right after our vows it started to rain so we ran back down the trail and headed back to the Airbnb for lunch. We went out for the best seafood and just spent the day together. It was simple, it was perfect. I never imagined myself walking down an isle in front of tons of people. I know what its like to not have people to invite or not want all the attention on you cause thats something I didn't want either, cue the anxiety. I also just crave adventure so eloping just spoke to me.

When I first booked my Acadia elopement I had never even been to Acadia! I had no idea where this was all happening and was hoping for the best. I mean really, I didn't even consider rain and guess what, it rained! I was unprepared and you might be feeling unprepared too, thats okay! Thats where we come in. We fell so in love with this place we go back multiple times a year for personal and work related trips and Olivia actually moved to Mount Desert Island for a while where Acadia is primarily located and spent all her free time exploring the park and surrounding areas. We know all the best trails, views, stays, activities, restaurants, coffee shops, book stores, ice cream shops, etc. We are your Acadia experts and all our packages include planning help to ensure you have the best day possible!
